If you were confronted by a soldier on the street, what would you do?

  1. If I was confronted by a soldier at first I would probably be really scared. But if the soldier did not do anything I would probably try to keep cool for as long as I can. If the soldier had asked for my identification or something I would stutter. I would either do that or run away screaming.

  2. If I were confronted by a soldier on the street, I would immediately become nervous. It also depends on the situation that I'm in. If the soldier did not know that I was Jewish, I would not be quite as scared, but if he did know, I would be mortified. I would try to act calm and hope for the best out of the situation.

  3. If I were to be confronted by a soldier on the street, I would become scared for my safety. From what I have read in the book, the german soldiers seem to be ruthless and unforgiving, almost as if they take pleasure in torturing the jews. I would immediately assume that I wouldn't stand a chance against the soldier, and give up on escaping. However, like Szpilman, I would not want to be killed by the hands of a German soldier, so I would try to find another way to escape the situation.
